COP 2800 Object Oriented Programming with JAVA for Programmers — 4 Credit Hours

Prerequisite: previous programming experience or courses. This course will provide programming students with an introduction to object-oriented programming using the Java language. It will introduce the concept of object-oriented programming and the basics of designing Java applets and applications. The course includes Java data types, methods, structures, swing and AWT components, as well as classes and inheritance. Java graphics methods and classes will also be explored. Students will develop programming projects to reinforce the concepts and gain hands-on experience with the language. Four contact hours (lecture/laboratory). A.S., A.A.S.
