EAP 0400 Speech/Listening Level IV — 3 Credit Hours (College preparatory studies course) (This course does not apply toward the associates degree.)

Prerequisite: speech/listening placement test score at Level IV. This course stresses the fundamentals of speech for non-native speakers of English. It focuses on improving spoken English for increased intelligibility and also focuses on improving listening skills for greater understanding of spoken English. The course provides instruction in the production of speech sounds, stress, intonation and rhythm in spoken English. Three contact hours.
