DEA 0023 Preclinical Procedures

Prerequisite: High school diploma or GED. Corequisites: DEA 0022, DEA 0001, DES 0103 and DES 0020. A comprehensive course designed to acquaint students with the many aspects of assisting at chairside in the treatment of dental patients. Among areas are patient management techniques taking and recording medical and dental histories, vital signs, performing and assisting with clinical examinations and charting, assisting with local anesthesia and all areas of dental treatment, operating and maintaining dental equipment and sterilizers.
