Overview

Now that you’ve been admitted to the College, completed any required placement testing, and have a catalog and Career Training and University Transfer schedule, you’re ready to begin your online orientation! We’ll start with how to find your way around these Web pages.

Navigation (Please read carefully)

If you have not already done so, please go back to the Orientation home page and bookmark it (do this now!). This way you can easily return to the orientation home page if you get lost somewhere along the way.

Note: To bookmark a page in Internet Explorer, go to “Favorites” and select “Add to Favorites.” To bookmark a page in Netscape, go to “Bookmarks” and select “Bookmark This Page.”

Each of the main pages of this orientation will also have a link at the top that will return you to the Orientation home page. Alternatively, you can go to the Continue to next section option at the bottom of each page, which will take you directly to the next part of the orientation.

Note: At certain points in the orientation, you will be asked to follow links to other sites. When you are done exploring that site, use your browser’s [Back] button to return to the online orientation page you started from. If you get “lost in cyberspace,” use the bookmark you created to return to the home page and navigate from there.

Orientation Worksheet

The first thing you should do is to open your Orientation Worksheet.

By clicking the appropriate link below, you will open a new window that you can go to as you complete your orientation. You will use the information presented in this orientation to complete the questions on the Worksheet.

Please open one of the Worksheets below, minimizing it (using the [-] button on the top right corner of the new window or top left corner in the Macintosh new window) until you are ready to use it.

Note: Be sure you select the worksheet for the campus/center where you plan to attend classes. If you are unfamiliar with the Florida Community College Web pages, more information is available on the campuses/centers Web page.

At certain points along the way, you will see the message:

“Complete Worksheet Questions Now”

This message means that the Worksheet has some questions related to what you have just read. You should stop at these points, go to the Worksheet window, and answer the questions related to what you’ve read up to that point. When you have completed the orientation, you will use this sheet to document that you are ready for your orientation advising. You will get more details about this advising session later on.

Now that these details are taken care of, begin your orientation by reading a little about the College’s mission, values and goals.
