Perks

Don’t Miss Out On Your Perks

High School Seniors

Apply by February 28 to be part of our Perks program. As a member of the Perks program you will be have the opportunity to create your college schedule before you even graduate from high school at special orientations just for Perks students. You will also be entered to win one of four $1,000 scholarship to be given away in March.

So apply now! Once you have applied to FCCJ your next step is to make sure you have your assessment wrapped up before orientation. In order to participate in orientation, you will need to complete the testing process at least one week prior to your orientation and have your scores on file with us. If you are planning to pursue an associate in arts (A.A.), associate in science (A.S.) or an associate in applied science (A.A.S.) degree, you can use scores from the ACT, SAT or CPT (College Placement Test). Below are the minimum scores accepted on the ACT or SAT:

  • ACT Scores: English 17, Reading 18 and Math 19
  • SAT Scores: 440 Math and 440 English

SAT and ACT test scores are valid two years from the test date. Students may mix and match discipline area components of the SAT and ACT such as using a passing score for the SAT math and a passing score from the ACT reading.

If you did not make the scores listed above, you will need to take the CPT. The CPT can also be taken instead of taking the ACT or SAT. Lower scores will not prevent you from attending Florida Community College. The scores from these tests will be used to place you in the math or English class that best meets your needs. Call the assessment center nearest you to make an appointment.

If you are planning to pursue a Workforce Credit Certificate program, you will need to take the TABE (Test of Adult Basic Education).

Your future is waiting. Apply today!
