2007 Page Edwards Short Fiction Contest

Sohrab Fracis, the final-round short story judge of the Florida First Coast Writers’ Festival, has selected the winners of the 2007 contest.

Bio’s (listed alphabetically by last name):

“Luther” by Bob Cullingford
Bob Cullingford was born and raised in Jacksonville. He started writing in his fifties and still stays active in local writers groups. His favorite reads are mysteries and horror, and he is currently working on a novel.

“Daze Inn” by Patricia Kraft
Patricia Kraft is a former First Coast resident now living in the Panhandle woods. Her poems, short stories, and music reviews have been included in several Florida publications including Skylight, Penquest, Penumbra, and the Arts Mania Coffee House Collection. Her children’s story “What I Did Last Summer” was a prizewinner in the 2006 Seven Hills Review.

“The Sin in the Cemetery” by Rick Maloy
Raised in New York City, Rick spent most of his working and family raising years in nearby New Jersey. After running the family’s insurance brokerage business for a number of years, he turned it over to his son in 2004 and migrated south with his wife of 40 years, Ann Marie. They currently reside in Ponte Vedra Beach, where Rick divides his time between writing short stories, playing golf and traveling, particularly to see their children and grandchildren in the New York area.

“In Pursuit of Dolphins” by Shell Teague
Shell Teague writes short fiction from her home in El Dorado, Arkansas, where her characters are constantly surprised by upcoming stories.

“The Legend of Jackie Ginelli” by Mike Walsh
Mike Walsh is a Boston native who is currently the manager of fighter jet overhaul at Naval Air Station Jacksonville. He has a Journalism degree from Boston University and has been published in the Boston Globe, the Boston Herald, and the New England Journal of Engineering. Mike lives in Mandarin with his wife and their three sons.
