Volunteers Needed

Volunteers are the Festival’s key to success. They help introduce speakers, distribute and collect workshop critiques, man the registration table, and assist festival attendees by pointing them in the right direction. Volunteers have the option to attend the luncheons and dinners for a discounted price.

Volunteer Guidelines

• Volunteers must work at least 4 hours (2 workshops) to be able to attend 2 workshops that same day. For example, volunteers may work the morning sessions then the attend the afternoon sessions of their choice.
• Volunteers may also work the registration and one-on-one/sales table for 4 hours and attend 2 workshops the same day.
• Volunteers may do pre-festival work to earn free time to participate in workshops. Pre-festival work includes soliciting businesses for door prizes, distributing Festival posters and newsletters to local libraries and book stores, preparing registration packets and participating in pre-planning meetings.
• Volunteers should make themselves available when duties slow down to see if they can provide any other assistance.
• Volunteers are required to pay cost for any of the meals they attend. Meal prices will be announced.
• Volunteers may not sign up for one-on-one sessions with Festival presenters until all festival attendees have had the opportunity to sign up.
• Volunteers who sit in on workshops will do the following:
  • Introduce the speaker.
  • Distribute critique forms to workshop attendees.
  • Collect critique forms and distribute tickets for door prizes.
  • Ensure the forms and door prize tickets are put in the appropriate box or envelope at the volunteer table following the workshop.
• If you agree to a specific day to volunteer, please show up on time to ensure there are enough volunteers to support the festival.
